Why your score is worth the work
Buyers compare suppliers on price and on trust. A stronger Confidence Score makes your store more credible at the exact moment someone is choosing where to spend — and a higher band is more prominent across the site.
Crucially, the score is independent. We don't sell points, and an affiliate relationship never changes a number — see our disclosure. The only way up is to be genuinely more transparent, verifiable and well-reviewed.
The 9 levers you control
Each area contributes up to a fixed maximum. Nail all of them and you reach 100 points before any penalties or caps — the bigger numbers are where to focus first.
Verify your domain & contact
Make it provable that you own and run your website, and publish a real, working way to reach you — an address, an email that replies, a contact form that goes somewhere.
Show a real business behind the brand
Publish a named trading entity — company registration, address or other proof. A faceless store can never reach the top bands.
Earn genuine peptidereview.co.uk reviews
Encourage real customers to leave honest, independent reviews. Volume and quality both count — and they must be genuine (see what hurts, below).
Build reputation beyond our site
Reputation on independent forums, Trustpilot, Reddit and other communities feeds in. You build this by being consistently good in public, over time.
Publish COAs & third-party testing
Make current Certificates of Analysis and independent lab results easy to find for the products you sell. This is one of the biggest levers you control.
Label correctly & stay compliant
Use clear "research use only" labelling and avoid any human or medical marketing claims. Getting this right protects your score; getting it wrong caps it.
Ship reliably & answer customers
Dispatch promptly, give realistic delivery times and respond to messages. Buyers report this, and it shows up in your score.
Resolve problems fairly
When something goes wrong, fix it quickly and fairly. How you handle complaints is scored in its own right.
Offer an affiliate commission
Partnering with us on an affiliate basis funds the independent monitoring behind these scores. You earn one point per percent of commission offered, up to 20.
What drags a score down
When we find evidence of dishonest behaviour, we subtract points directly — and penalties stack. None of these are worth the short-term gain.
Fabricated or bought reviews
Fake, purchased or manipulated reviews are the single fastest way to lose points. If we find evidence, we subtract — heavily.
Hidden incentivised reviews
Reviews given in exchange for discounts, free product or other perks are fine only if that's clearly disclosed. Concealing the incentive is penalised.
Serious unresolved complaints
Credible, serious complaints — non-delivery, dangerous product, refusing to engage — that you leave unresolved cost you significantly.
The four things that cap your score
Some failures are serious enough that no amount of positive signals should produce a high score. Each applies a ceiling — and if several apply, the lowest wins. Clear these first; they're the foundation everything else builds on.
Verify domain ownership
If we can't confirm who owns and runs the website, your score is capped here — no matter how strong everything else is.
Publish business details
No identifiable company or trading entity behind the store caps your score.
Offer a genuine contact method
No working way for a buyer to reach a real person caps your score.
Drop human & medical claims
Marketing research chemicals for human use, or making medical claims, applies a hard cap.
How to climb the bands
Work top-down — clear the caps first, then chase the biggest point levers:
- 1 Clear every cap. Confirm your domain ownership, publish real business details and a working contact method, and scrub any human or medical claims. Until these are done, nothing else can lift you into the top bands.
- 2 Publish COAs and lab testing. Make current third-party results easy to find for your best-selling products first, then expand. This is one of the highest-value signals you fully control.
- 3 Invite genuine reviews. Ask real customers for honest feedback on peptidereview.co.uk. Never buy, fake or secretly incentivise them — that costs far more than it earns.
- 4 Tighten shipping & support. Dispatch promptly, set realistic delivery expectations, reply quickly, and resolve complaints fairly when they happen.
- 5 Keep it consistent in public. External reputation on forums and review sites builds over weeks and months of doing the above where buyers can see it.
- 6 Tell us when something changes. Added COAs, updated your business details or resolved a complaint? Let us know so we can re-review and update your score.
Sharing a score with other suppliers
Scores are whole numbers, so you will usually share yours with several other suppliers. Suppliers with equal Confidence Scores are ordered by affiliate commission, then customer reviews on peptidereview.co.uk (how many, and how highly rated), then domain verification, then business identity verification. It can never lift you past a supplier scoring higher than you, so the way up is still the checklist above.
